Trustee Jeff Gronberg was recently selected as a Distinguished Engineering Fellow by The University of Alabama College of Engineering. The honor recognizes individuals who have strengthened the reputation of the College of Engineering through their professional accomplishments, contributions to their local community and ongoing support of the College鈥檚 mission to be a global leader in engineering education, research and service. It is the highest honor bestowed by the College of Engineering, from which Gronberg graduated with a bachelor鈥檚 degree in aerospace engineering. He also attended graduate school at The University of Alabama.
Gronberg is a distinguished leader in North Alabama with over 20 years of experience in the defense and intelligence industries. He is chief executive officer of deciBel Research in Huntsville, where he has worked with numerous notable clients such as the U.S. Department of Defense, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security and the Federal Aviation Administration. He previously served as vice president of aerospace engineering at Analytical Services, Inc. (ASI) and director of engineering analysis at Teledyne Brown Engineering. He has been recognized locally and nationally for his outstanding professional accomplishments and leadership and is also actively involved in the community, serving on multiple boards, including the UAH Foundation Board, the Redstone Regional Alliance and the Huntsville Hospital Foundation Board.
Gronberg joins other esteemed UA System leaders who have also been recognized as Distinguished Engineering Fellows, including Trustee Ronald Gray (2007 class) and UAH President Charles L. Karr (2022 class).
